SHADY DAWN PICTURES - The Girl We Let In

In this followup to "New Jersey Devil" 16 year old Sophie is getting settled into her newly adopted family the Tatums -Jeremiah, Hope and 11 year old Candace. As she adapts to her new normal, a tragic incident shakes the community and soon after, strange things begin happening around the house. Hope comes to the disturbing realization that something is wrong with Sophie and bringing her into their home may have been a deadly mistake.

"The Girl We Let In" premiered at the Northern Horror Fest on July 17th, 2026 in Bergenfield, NJ where it was nominated for Best Film and Olivia Mignone won Best Actress for her performance as Hope Tatum.

The film will next be screening at Basie Center Cinemas in Red Bank, NJ on August 9th at 4:30pm.

Congrats to the cast & crew for the wins and nominations at the May 2026 NJ Film awards! Veronika Babina won Best Actress, Winnie Penkethman won Best Supporting Actress, and the film itself won Best Narrative Feature. Olivia Migone was nominated for Best Actress, Ryan Callaway was nominated for Best Supporting Actor and the film received a Best Ensemble Nomination.

At the London Indie Film Awards Clementine Benstock won Best Child Artist, Veronika Babina was nominated for Best Actress, Ryan Callaway for Best Supporting Actor and Olivia Mignone for Best Supporting Actress.

Veronika Babina won Best Actress at the 13 Horror Film Festival!

"The Girl We Let In" was nominated for several awards again at the July 2026 NJ Film Awards . In May the jury had only seen a rough cut so it wasn't elligible for certain categories. Composers Eros Cartechini and Mike Giordano (with vocal accompaniment by Maria Giordano) were awarded Best Original Score, Callaway won Best Supporting Actor and the film achieved the distinction of Best Movie Poster.
